Abstract
It has long been known that in middle latitudes one particular type of micropulsation occurs during an early phase of the ‘bay’ disturbances. This type of pulsation was once called the Pt type pulsation, but is now classified as Pi-2 pulsations. As we learned in Chapter 3, the low latitude bay disturbance is a part of the polar magnetic substorm, so that Pi-2 pulsations are undoubtedly another manifestation of the magnetospheric substorm.
