Abstract
During the Polar Cap Absorption event occurring after the flares of 24th and 25th February 1969, three rockets have been launched successfully at Andenes (Norway).
Riometer and magnetometer recordings show that the P.CA. event is a fairly weak one.
In this paper the energy spectra of protons and α-particles in the energy range from 2.3 to 70 MeV, obtained during these flights are given. The main results are given in Figure 5. The a/proton ratio found, is 0.013 in the range 4–20 MeV/nucleon at both flights. The mean free path of the protons is estimated to be 0.06 AU.
