The Concepts of Value

Part of the book series: Foundations of Language ((FLSS,volume 12))

Abstract

The approach of this investigation is quite different from that of most other investigations of value. The good is literally the last thing we are concerned about: we shall not encounter it in explicit form until we are nearly at the end of our study. We can hope for a clearer notion of the good only after exploring the ground from which it arises. The sequent order of this study is, therefore, one of its most important features.
