Abstract
In this chapter Popper’s primary concern seems to change from what was originally a defense of his own theory of confirmation to simply an attack on Carnap’s theory. Since the two theories have different explicanda, they are not exactly competitors. However, if Popper could show that Carnap’s theory contains some inescapable serious flaw, that in itself would be an important contribution.
