Abstract

The identification and description of the “I-Thou” and of the “we” situations according to their different eidetic structures constitutes only the first two stages in von Hildebrand’s analysis of the basic types of intersubjective relationships. In addition to these, there is a third interpersonal situation that he selects for phenomenological scrutiny. This is the phenomenon of mutual love between persons.
