Abstract
It is well known that fetal tissue is more able to survive an anoxious period than more mature tissue. From a biochemical point of view, this means that fetal tissue is better equipped to maintain a certain ATP level under anaerobic conditions than the adult tissue. Because glycolysis is under anaerobic conditions the main producer of ATP, computer studies are made in order to evaluate differences in control of this process in fetal and adult rat liver.
