Abstract
Among other methods of chloroplast fragmentation some authors have used an enzymatic hydrolysis (GREENBLATT et al. I960, OKAYAMA 1964, GRESSEL & AVRON 1965, BAMBERGER & PARK 1966, BRIL et al. 1969, MANTAI 1970). But in all these researches only whole chloroplasts or unseparated mixtures of fragments have been treated with hydrolytic enzymes. In most cases the investigations concerned the photochemical activity or the structure of the chloroplasts after treating them with enzymes. Spectral properties and in particular the fluorescence spectra were not studied in detail.
