Abstract

A new physical problem can be attacked sometimes by the existing mathematical techniques; at other times it needs an entirely new mathematical framework. The relation between the concepts of theoretical physics and the mathematical entities is an intriguing one: the mathematician is often intrigued by how the physicist sets up a physical theory, i.e., a correspondence between physical notions and mathematical symbols obeying certain rules of combinations. The physicist, on the other hand, is intrigued by the abstract formalization of mathematics.
