Fundamental Processes in Particle and Photon Interactions with Surfaces

  • Conference paper

Part of the book series: Astrophysics and Space Science Library ((ASSL,volume 37))

Abstract

The basic physical principles of several experimental techniques to study photon and particle interaction with surfaces will be reviewed. Photoemission, electron and ion scattering methods are briefly discussed. A few examples of the results of such studies which are directly relevant to space science and technology are also presented.
