Abstract
Although in some Lake Kariba fish species a pronounced sexual dimorphism in growth was noted and the growth of some species differs in various localities, I decided to omit these differences from consideration in this chapter and to attempt a comparison of specific total means. The values for individual species are summarized in Appendix C.
‘Tropical fresh waters (reservoirs and ponds) seem destined to contribute prominently to human nutrition. (…) Some, at least, are more resilient under heavy exploitation than those in other areas, and, in fact, underharvest may be our most difficult problem.’
