Long Range Ordering in One-Component Coulomb Systems

  • Chapter
Book cover Physical Reality and Mathematical Description

Abstract

Coulomb systems are known to play an important role in the non-relativistic physics of matter. One way to classify these systems is by the number of their components : one, two or more. In this paper, we consider in particular the one-component Coulomb systems (O.C.C.S,) and we propose a mechanism leading to the onset of long range order (density oscillations) in those systems. The exploratory character of the third part of this paper should be stressed beforehand.
