Abstract

An outline is given of methods used to construct model distributions of the density, pressure, incompressibility, rigidity, gravitational intensity and P and S seismic velocities in the Earth’s interior. Spherical symmetry is assumed. Reference is made to the problem of formulating a standard Earth model. A table giving values of various properties of the Earth’s interior at selected depths is included.
