Supernovae and Supernova Remnants

Abstract

A growing interest in recent years has developed in astronomical phenomena which occur on short time-scales, this interest being sparked off first by the discovery of pulsars, and enhanced by the work of Weber and others, on pulse sattributed to gravitational radiation. As Bondi (1970) has pointed out this new field of ‘pulse astronomy’, has been until recently somewhat neglected, though interest has at last been stimulated.
