Abstract
Many authors have treated the problem of the evolution of supernovae remnants in an analytical or semianalytical fashion (see the review paper by Woltjer, 1972 and the recent work of Cox, 1972a, b, c). Recently, Rosenberg and Scheuer (1973) have presented a numerical solution to the problem. In general, the broad features of the evolution of supernovae remnants are fairly well understood. In the present paper we will discuss some preliminary results of a detailed numerical study of the evolution of supernovae remnants and their associated thermal X-ray spectrum. A more complete description of our methods and results will be given in a paper that is in preparation for publication.
