Comparison of Inference Philosophies

  • Chapter
Information, Inference and Decision

Part of the book series: Theory and Decision Library ((TDLU,volume 1))

Abstract

The components of some inference philosophies are examined in Sections 1 and 2. Certain difficulties for having probabilities for unknowns with information, with no information, and on the basis of the model are examined in Sections 3, 4 and 5. And the conservative, fiducial and Bayesian theories are compared with structural theory in Sections 6, 7 and 8.
