Abstract
Differences between the CO2 exchange patterns of young and old tobacco leaves can be explained by differences in stomatal resistances. No evidence was obtained that any fundamental changes occur in the activities of the photosynthetic and respiratory systems during the maturation of young tobacco leaves.
