Abstract
Fifty years ago the Swiss naturalist Burger (1922) compared agricultural soil to a chaotic mass of building material, and natural undisturbed soil to a house built from this material. But probably it would be better to compare undisturbed soil to a building, and agricultural, permanently ploughed soil to debris of this building permanently destroyed with powerful and dreadful weapon.
