Abstract
The seventh Solvay Conference on Physics took place in Brussels from 22 to 29 October 1933. Its general theme was the ‘Structure and Properties of Atomic Nuclei’. This was the last conference to take place before World War II. A conference on elementary particles and their mutual interactions had been planned for 1939, but world events intervened and it had to be cancelled.
