Some Observations on Theories of Collective Decisions

  • Chapter
Utility, Probability, and Human Decision Making

Part of the book series: Theory and Decision Library ((TDLU,volume 11))

Abstract

Research in the area of collective decision making has been somewhat neglected by Bayesian Decision Theorists. In this paper several collective decision making research topics are discussed. Opportunities for descriptive studies on group decision making, group utility functions, and team theory are suggested in the hope of stimulating further meaningful research in these important areas.
