Summary

The Scarabaeidae of Yugoslavia and Central Europe (in broader sense) are compared in faunistical respect. Both regions are well known; Yugoslavia mainly by the publications of the author, Central Europe mainly by the works of HORION and MACHATSCHKE. From Yugoslavia 268 species, from Central Europe 218 species are now recorded. 83,2% of the Central European species are also found in Yugoslavia, 68% of the Yugoslavian species occur in Central Europe too. The higher number of species in Yugoslavia is explained by the fact that in some regions with mediterranean climate many species with mediterranean distribution type dominate. On the other hand, the genus Aphodius (among others) has more species in Central Europe. The complete list of species is added.
