Abstract
By its very nature the phenomenon of CIDNP is a time-dependent or “dynamic” effect. It was appreciated, even before the origin of the effect was correctly understood, that the observed nmr intensities reflect the competition between “pumping” of the nuclear spin states by a chemical reaction and relaxation of the populations to their equilibrium values [1]. It is our purpose here to illustrate and discuss some of the time dependent effects which have been observed in CIDNP, with special emphasis given to some of the distortions due to relaxation which can complicate the comparison between theoretical and experimentally observed spectra. In so doing we shall restrict the discussion as follows.

- Bloch Equation
- Radical Pair Mechanism
- Generalize Master Equation
- Nuclear Spin State
- Radio Frequency Excitation
