Abstract

We already had the opportunity of presenting some aspects of our studies on cation-binding to biomolecules in a preceding Jerusalem Symposium [1]. The work reported concerned, however, essentially binding to peptides and esters in connection in particular with the structure and properties of antibiotic cyclic depsipeptides. (For other papers in relation with this subject see references [2–6]. In the present communication we wish to present results relevant to other types of fundamental biomolecules: constituents of nucleic acids and phospholipids.
