Abstract

Information is often said to be one of the aims of science. In a somewhat aphoristic form: science is an information seeking process. If this is true then the concept of information becomes of crucial importance for the methodology of science, because the use of a method in science would then have to be justified in terms of its efficiency in obtaining information.
