Abstract
Koagamin® is an aqueous acid solution of oxalic and malonic acids given by intravenous or intramuscular injection in a dosage of 2 and 3 ml respectively. In 1939 Steinberg and Brown claimed that oxalic acid accelerated the coagulation time. Steinberg and Brown in 1939 described beneficial effects in patients suffering from various defects of haemostasis. Herbst and Weinstein (1944) claimed acceleration of the bleeding time and of the capillary tube clotting time in normals and operative patients although none were grossly abnormal initially.
