Abstract

Tachostyptan® is a procoagulative haemostatic. Its phospholipid composition and its physiological effect (in vitro as well as in vivo) have been well analysed and proved to be analogous to that of platelet factor 3 (Deutsch and Fischer, 1963; Egli, 1961; Fischer, 1964; Mitrenga, 1972; Pohlreich, 1971; Schimpf et al., 1972; Zürn, 1956). Thus the procoagulative activity of a 1:50 dilution is equal to a suspension of 300,000 thrombocytes per mm3 (Egli, 1961).
