Part of the book series: NATO Science Series ((NAIV,volume 4))

Abstract

One of the important tools to protect human health from harmful chemicals in the environment or the workplace is the risk assessment. The exposure assessment is one of the four major areas of the risk assessment (the others are hazard identification, dose-response assessment and risk characterization). Reliable and sensitive biomarkers are important tools for exposure assessment.
