Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to provide some basic information on those aspects of plant collecting, taxonomy and nomenclature that are relevant to the applied scientist. It is not intended to provide a comprehensive treatment of these subjects; although it is hoped that it will make the applied scientist better informed about what to them may appear to be a source of irritation to their immediate research projects.
