Abstract
This chapter presents some of the core assumptions lying behind von Balthasar’s religious epistemology. At the heart of his religious epistemology is his conception of human holiness—the subject of Chapter Three—which cashes out in the living of a God-given mission. But his notion of mission is itself premised upon his Christocentric philosophical anthropology.
