Abstract
In this chapter I shall consider Moira’s matrix clauses. The striking fact about her linguistic skills is that they are very refined in all but one domain, that of embedded verb placement. While she produces many verb-placement errors in embedded clauses, as described in detail in Chapters 2 and 3, she uniformly produces target-consistent word order in matrix clauses.
