Abstract

An introduction into the electronic structure of High-Tc Superconductor is given. This introduction is illustrated by recent studies of model compounds containing Cu-O planes, ladders and chains, performed using high-energy spectroscopies such as photoemission, x-ray absorption and electron energy-loss spectroscopy.
