Abstract
The problem of surveying the integrity of industrial structures becomes an increasingly important issue as operational safety requirements turn more stringent and maintenance costs need to be reduced. Using fiber reinforced materials in modern aerospace structures not only involves new design criteria but also requires advanced safety inspection techniques to account for the nature of damages associated with the new materials. For online or in-flight applications, damage detection and localization methods are required to work with electronic devices which are readily available on the structure, e.g. to monitor and control critical operating conditions [1].
