Abstract

The MACRO[1[ detector has measured 809 upward through-going muons induced by neutrinos of mean energy around 50 GeV since Mar. 1989 to 19 Dec. 2000 when the acquisition was stopped. The detector has also measured 415 events with neutrino energy around 4 GeV. The data are in very good agreement with the v β → v τ scenario with maximal mixing and Δm2 ~ 2.4 · 10-3 eV2. The v β → v sterile oscillations with maximum mixing are disfavored at 99% CL.
