Abstract
The City of Ceske Budejovice has initiated a flood model project of the Vltava and Malse Rivers including the catchment of Dobrovodsky creek in 1998. The aim of the project was to create a mathematical model for the reconstruction of historical flood events and the evaluation of impacts of possible technical solutions that could be introduced in order to prevent the floods in the future. The model should describe both the hydrological phenomena and the hydraulic capacity. As the catchment is partly urbanised the model should also include a model of the sewer network.
