Abstract

The purpose of this last section is to review evidence on implementing change in medical education curricula and professional curricula in general. This utility of this purpose was considered reasonable given the expected effect of all previous sections in generating a desire in readers to initiate curricular enhancements. Our message, borrowing from current advertising parlance, is “just do it”. We offer six chapters of advice on how to make the “doing” more pleasant, more successful and more rewarding to all concerned. Authors in this section review published literature in a range of areas pertinent to curricular change and offer summaries and suggestions intended to be helpful or at least sympathetic in the struggles that are inevitable in managing change of any significant impact. Of course, without that impact, why bother?
