Microwave Superconductivity

Part of the book series: NATO Science Series ((NSSE,volume 375))

Abstract

The application of HTS technology to passive microwave devices is fi- nally coming of age. A brief overview of wireless telephony and why HTS filters may be beneficial in these systems will be presented in this chap- ter. This will be followed by a general overview of how HTS filters, come together with many of the individual technology areas discussed in other chapters of these proceedings to form turnkey systems which can be man- ufacturedand sold to the wireless communications industry. Hundreds of these self-contained systems have been sold by the summer of 1999, and a brief discussion of recent market experience is also included here.
