Spin structures in exchange-biased thin films studied by Mössbauer Spectroscopy

  • Conference paper

Abstract

The interfacial spin structure in an exchange biased Fe(6nm)/FeRh system was studied in correlation with the micro-structural behaviour by conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy and magnetic measurements. The in plane distribution of the interfacial Fe was analysed by taking the CEMS spectra with the γ radiation oriented at 30°vs. the interface plane. An experimental proof for a spin-flop coupling mechanism, with the interfacial spins of the ferromagnetic phase perpendicular to the spins of the antiferromagnetic phase, was found
