Abstract

In the Odyssey of Homer, the goddess Circe gives Odysseus instructions to aid him in his journey home. He is warned that only one sea road can take him to Ithaca. That road runs between an impassable whirlpool created by the monster Charybdis and along the cliffs of the horrible six-headed monster Scylla.
