Abstract
The star Feige 55 is a spectroscopic binary consisting of a metal-rich DAO white dwarf and an unseen degenerate companion, with an orbital period of approximately 1.5 days. This star has been observed at several epochs by the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE). FUSE spectra reveal photospheric absorption lines from H, He, C, N, O, Si, P, S, Fe, and Ni, often in multiple ionization stages. We will report on progress in achieving self-consistent estimates for the effective temperature, surface gravity, and elemental abundances.
