Abstract
We present a new approach to the problem of covariantly quantizing the superstring. The starting point is Berkovits’ pure spinor formalism; the pure spinor constraint is then removed, and a suitable BRST operator is found with the correct cohomology. This work has been done in collaboration with P. A. Grassi, M. Porrati and P. van Nieuwenhuizen.
