Abstract
The Far East Plant (FEP) “Zvezda” began Nuclear Submarine (NS) utilization (i.e. decommissioning and distmantlement) operations in 1989. During the following 22 years 25 NSs including 20 strategic missile NSs that makes up 90% of all already utilized NSs owned by the Pacific Navy were utilized. Because of this about 1/3 of the decommissioned Pacific NSs no longer constitute nuclear, radiation or environmental threat.
