The study of nuclear medium effects with electromagnetic probes takes advantage from the precise knowledge of the direct coupling of the e.m. field with the charged nuclear currents which have to be investigated. In addition, the small e.m. interaction cross section allows to explore the whole volume of the nucleus, thus photo-producing fast moving quarks and the subsequent formed hadrons in high static nuclear densities.
