Abstract
Near- to mid-infrared photometric properties are preliminarily exhibited of IRAS Miras that lie within -7.°3 < b < +1° and 282.°5 < l < 285.°5. Tentative O-/C-rich classifications based on K — L versus [12 μm] — [25 μm] colours and pulsation period characteristics of the variable stars are presented. It is shown that O-/C-rich Miras come from two populations of statistically different period distributions
