Abstract
Studies of boiling under high centrifugal overloads became topical with application of evaporation cooling for high-speed electric machines. During 60s, such studies were carried out using ordinary (non-cryogenic) liquids (freon, ethanol, water, etc.). The study of heat transfer in cryogenic liquids within the fields high intense mass forces was stimulated by development of cryogenic electric machine industry. The main attention was paid to heat transfer in helium in application to the systems for cooling of superconductor armature coils in cryogenerators.
