Abstract

New catalytic routes for synthesis of vinylene-siloxylene-alkenylene copolymers via ADMET copolymerization of divinyltetraethoxydisiloxane with dienes (e.g., 1,9-decadiene, dihexenyl- ether and 1,4-divinylbenzene) and via tandem ROM/CM polymerization of cyclooctene with divinyltetraethoxydisiloxane as well as via silylative coupling (SC) polycondensation of divinyldisiloxanes with dienes (e.g. divinylbenzene) has been overviewed. Monovinyl(trialkoxy- and trisiloxy)silanes undergo (in the presence of Grubbs catalyst) cross-metathesis with 1,9-decadiene and/or tandem ROM/CM with cyclooctene to give, in excess of olefin, bis(silyl)dienes.
