Abstract

The advent of new and sophisticated techniques makes reappraisal of established methods necessary time and again. Although orbital arteriography and phlebography have gained widespread use only recently, these studies are now largely being supplanted by computerized axial tomography (CT-scan) and ultrasonography due to their increased reliability. As these tests will probably decrease the need to perform radioisotope investigation of the orbits as well, it seems fit to examine the value of radioisotope examinations of the orbital contents at present.
