Abstract
The mammal fauna of the Kinneret area includes elements from Palaearctic, Ethiopian, Oriental and Mediterranean origin. Ethiopian species advanced northwards in the Rift Valley whereas Palaearctic elements extended southwards in the mountainous areas bordering the depression. Thirty species are represented.
