Abstract
The benthic algae of Lake Kinneret and surrounding springs were investigated by Dor (1967, 1970, 1971, 1974) and by Rahat & Dor (1968). These authors found that the blue-green algae are represented by numerous species but they do not contribute much to the total benthic phytobiomass. Conversely, the diatom flora is less diversified but shows greater biological activity.
