Pattern Recognition — with Special Emphasis on Image Processing

Abstract

This paper reviews some of the more important methods in computerized pattern recognition and image processing including supervised and nonsupervised techniques, parametric and nonparametric methods as well as transformation of multidimensional data vectors to lower dimensional space for data presentation. The importance of preprocessing and feature extraction is stressed.
