Mössbauer Spectroscopy on Solids Under Pressure

  • Conference paper

Part of the book series: NATO Advanced Study Institutes Series ((ASIC,volume 41))

Abstract

Many excellent textbooks describe the general ideas of Mössbauer spectroscopy / 1–9 /. The present introduction into high pressure Mössbauer spectroscopy therefore includes only a very short recapitulation of this general theoretical background and the common experimental details. Various reviews on high pressure Mössbauer spectroscopy have also been published rather recently / 10–18 /. It is therefore not intended to give a complete review on all the experimental data here, but rather to present some typical aspects of the special high pressure techniques and more details on just a few typical applications.
