Abstract

A case study In the field of plant physiology (kinetin research) shows a strong correlation between the innovation quality of scientific papers and their citation rate — suggesting that factors extraneous to the content matter of a paper have little effect on the paper’s citation rate. Methods are suggested for determination of scientific papers’ “innovation quality”, through systematic content analysis or citation counts.
